During a disaster

Inform your personnel

Inform your personnel about instructions coming from authorities and the specific steps you take in your organization.

Apply your plans

Implement your emergency measures plan and your business continuity plan.

Notify your strategic partners (financial institutions, insurers, customers, suppliers, etc.) of the measures you have taken and the steps you have planned to help restore the situation to normal.

Be flexible with employees who have been affected by the disaster and need to take time away from work.

Help restore the situation to normal

Cooperate in local rescue efforts, using the means at your disposal. For example, you can lend premises and materials, provide transportation, assist with logistics, ensure the supply of basic necessities, etc. Your business’s social involvement during the difficult times following a disaster will be appreciated.

Obtain advice

If your business activities are affected, contact an advisor (in French only) from the ministère de l'Économie, de la Science et de l'Innovation in your area, who will assist you in managing the situation, or call 1 866 463-6642.
