Urgence Québec is a website of the Gouvernement du Québec. Its role is to provide individuals and businesses with accurate, complete information on emergency situations calling for the intervention of emergency managers in Québec. The information covers events in progress, applicable directives and recommendations, and programs and services offered in emergency situations by departments and bodies of the Gouvernement du Québec and municipalities. Urgence Québec also provides information on actions to take and behaviours to adopt before, during and after a disaster.
The Bureau de l’information d’urgence, which is part of the of Direction des communications of the ministère du Travail, de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale administers the Urgence Québec website. In keeping with its mission under the national civil protection plan for Québec, it is responsible for coordinating governmental communications in an emergency situations.
